L.I.V.E PROJECT

LIFELINE INTERRUPTING VIOLENCE THROUGH ENGAGEMENT

Community Life Line Violence Prevention Program

Our Mission

At Community Life Line, we are committed to rebuilding communities from the inside out by addressing violence as a public health issue. Our Violence Prevention Program, L.I.V.E. (LifeLine Interrupting Violence through Engagement), is designed to create safer neighborhoods, restore hope, and promote healing for individuals and families impacted by violence. We believe in a holistic approach that engages the entire community to foster peace and resilience.

Our Approach

The L.I.V.E. Project utilizes a comprehensive, community-centered approach that includes prevention, intervention, and restoration efforts. We collaborate with local partners, residents, and stakeholders to reduce violence and build long-term community safety. Our program operates under the following core pillars:

  1. Community Engagement

    • We actively engage local residents, youth, faith leaders, law enforcement, and community organizations to build trust and partnerships. Through outreach events, educational workshops, and public awareness campaigns, we provide the community with the tools and knowledge to prevent violence and promote peaceful solutions.

  2. Street Outreach

    • Our team of trained street outreach workers act as mediators and violence interrupters. They are skilled in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention, responding quickly to prevent conflicts from escalating into violence. The team is embedded in the community and works directly with individuals at high risk of involvement in violence.

  3. Violence Interruption

    • We implement strategic interventions to stop violence before it happens. Our violence interrupters work to identify tensions, mediate disputes, and address underlying factors like trauma, poverty, and lack of opportunity that often lead to violent outcomes.

  4. Restorative Justice & Healing Circles

    • We believe in the power of healing after trauma. Our restorative justice programs offer opportunities for those affected by violence to come together, seek resolution, and heal. Healing circles, peer support, and mental health services are available to help individuals and families process trauma and restore their sense of safety and well-being.

  5. Youth Empowerment Programs

    • We understand that today’s youth are the future of our community. Our programs focus on empowering young people to make positive choices, develop leadership skills, and build healthy relationships. From mentorship to leadership training, we provide resources that give youth the support they need to thrive.

  6. Collaboration with Stakeholders

    • We work closely with city leaders, law enforcement, schools, healthcare providers, and other local organizations to address violence comprehensively. Our partnerships help us create sustainable solutions that benefit the entire community.

Key Program Elements

  • Gun Violence Reduction
